Accounting Manager – Government Contract Support (Consultant Role)

Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional with experience in government contracts? Jefferson Wells is supporting our client in this critical role to ensure compliance with a large-scale federal contract.

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Manage tri-monthly billing packets and A/R invoicing.
• Deliver monthly and annual financial reports.
• Develop annual budgets, cost proposals, and quarterly forecasts.
• Ensure accurate invoicing via the Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) system.
• Supervise accounts payable functions.
• Validate and process bi-weekly staffing agency payroll invoices.
• Create and maintain financial reports and spreadsheets for internal departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support contract compliance and financial operations.

• Proven experience managing billing cycles and government invoicing.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
• Familiarity with federal contracts, especially in food procurement or logistics.
• Experience with WAWF, D365, or Prophix is a plus.
• Understanding of federal audit processes and compliance standards.
• Leadership capability and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
