Manager, Statistics – Bio Space
Location:
North Chicago, IL
Senior Research Statistician/Manager/Senior Manager in Statistical Innovation is responsible for providing scientific and statistical leadership to support initiatives on designing innovative clinical trials and to evaluate, develop and deploy advanced and novel statistical/analytical modeling and simulations to drive statistical innovation modeling and simulation in Clinical Development.
Responsibilities- Actively support the evaluation, introduction, development and education of novel statistical and machine learning/deep learning approaches.
- Investigate and evaluate complex innovative designs and analysis options using scientific computing, modeling and simulations.
- Acquire new knowledge in advanced and emerging statistical methods (e.g. adaptive designs, Bayesian methods, synthetic control, predictive modeling).
- Create, invent, and implement new or better approaches, alternatives, and breakthrough ideas in modeling and simulations.
- Apply statistical knowledge to solve real‑world problems and evaluate alternative statistical and machine learning approaches.
- Develop, implement and roll out statistical and deep learning tools and techniques (e.g. R, R‑shiny, Python, Julia).
- Build and maintain external reputation and influence industry through presentations, meetings and peer‑reviewed publications.
- PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics or a highly related field.
- Senior Research Statistician:
PhD with no experience required. - Manager:
PhD and 2+ years relevant experience. - Senior Manager:
PhD and 4+ years relevant experience. - Experience in pharmaceutical development and applied statistics or statistical consulting preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of statistical modeling and methodology and strong understanding of the drug development process.
- Demonstrated advanced statistical computing and simulation skills. Proven expertise in standard (e.g. SAS, R) and specialized statistical software (e.g. FACTS, EAST) preferred.
- Proven ability to collaborate and consult with discipline experts and leaders within and across functions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent teamwork and leadership skills.
- Passionate about statistical innovation and always thinks outside the box.
- Builds strong relationships with peers and partners to enable higher performance.
- Participates in creating a learning environment, open to suggestions and experimentation for improvement.
- Embraces ideas of others, supports innovation and helps implement innovation into reality.
- Compensation range: $–$ (subject to location and other factors).
