Director, Accounting & Finance Operations

Overview:
We’re looking for a strategic finance leader to drive long-term business planning and operational excellence. As Director of Accounting & Finance, you’ll oversee financial strategy, compliance, budgeting, and system integration while serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership. This role is pivotal in shaping financial processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering insights that impact organizational success.

What You’ll Do:
  • Lead financial strategy for major projects and initiatives, including long- and short-term planning (3–5 years).
  • Develop and implement department SOPs and cost-saving measures.
  • Forecast, plan, and manage annual operating and capital budgets; monitor performance and adjust as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal contracting regulations and internal controls.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on pricing strategies, process improvements, and margin optimization.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close, audits, and insurance reviews.
  • Perform variance analysis and deliver actionable financial insights to leadership.
  • Manage ROI analysis for projects and present findings to executive teams and key stakeholders.
  • Drive financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modeling.
  • Serve as day-to-day financial contact for customers and vendors; collaborate with legal on contracts.
  • Oversee reporting, procurement, and A/R and A/P functions for designated operations.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team; manage talent planning and succession strategies.
  • Own complex, cross-functional projects and lead organizational change initiatives.
  • Engage with community partners and link activities to business performance.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and 8+ years in finance leadership.
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyze large data sets quickly.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Strong business insight, adaptability, and proven ability to drive results in complex environments.
