OverviewAbb Vie is seeking an engineer to repair, maintain, and continually improve the site chilled water system and other utilities to maximize efficiency, prevent production interruptions, facilitate new processes, and enhance operation. The role develops expertise on chilled water systems, equipment (including chillers, heat exchangers, pumps, and valves), and related procedures as training and experience dictate.
Responsibilities- Oversee and coordinate maintenance, internal and external resources, and project activities related to chilled water and other utilities systems. Work under general direction of supervisor or technical lead.
- Provide technical service for systems as assigned: repair, troubleshooting, and daily monitoring for potential issues and/or improvements.
- Identify and evaluate problematic issues and help implement and communicate solutions.
- Assist operations in troubleshooting potential impacts on production and train operators on optimal system operating parameters.
- Assist in gathering system information and specifications for production, engineering groups, outside consultants, contractors, and various company departments.
- Participate and/or assist engineers in designing process equipment or systems for optimal performance. Assist in start-up of new and troubleshoot existing facilities/equipment to ensure optimal operation and performance.
- Identify and help implement improvements in processes, equipment, or work processes.
- High School/GED is required AND at least 5 years of technical experience in chilled water systems.
- Technical training completion/certification or an associate degree may substitute for up to 2 years of required experience.
- Knowledge of basic regulatory requirements.
- Effective communication skills to concisely convey key issues to stakeholders.
- Analytical skills to assess issues, gather information, and identify key issues to address.
- Computer literacy with basic spreadsheets, word processing, email, and knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems and purchasing systems.
The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation at the time of posting based on the job grade; individual compensation will depend on location and other factors and may be higher or lower than the posted range. Benefits include paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) for eligible employees. This job is eligible for short-term and long-term incentive programs.
