Salary Range: The full pay range for the Renewable Energy Tech 3 is $25.00 - $42.00 per hour. The target range the 3 level is $30.00 to $35.00.

The full pay range for the Renewable Energy Tech 4 is $28.00 - $47.00 per hour. The target range for 4 level is $33.00.00 to $38.00.

We generally base our salary decisions on factors such as internal equity, candidate work and/leadership experience, educational credentials, and in some cases, candidate work location.

EDF power solutions is seeking experienced individuals to join our team as a Renewable Energy Technician level 3 or level 4—based on their experience, advanced skills, and leadership capabilities.

Candidates will be placed at the level Technician 3 or Technician 4 commensurate with their experience, qualifications, and successful completion of internal competency standards.

About the Role

Under the direction of the Site Manager or designee, you will be responsible for the unsupervised maintenance, troubleshooting, major repair, installation, and commissioning of utility‑scale renewable energy assets, including PV (Photovoltaics) and BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems). All positions require in‑depth knowledge of safety procedures, technical documentation, and a commitment to operational excellence. Work location: 6510 88th Street SE Kulm, North Dakota 58456.

Required Training: Each Renewable Energy Technician will attend mandatory five (5) week training and certification course at the start of their employment. The exact duration will be determined based on experience and qualifications. The training is in Albert Lea, MN, and travel, accommodation, and expenses will be provided.

Responsibilities Distinct Role Responsibilities

While both roles perform critical field maintenance, the Technician 4 role requires a higher degree of technical mastery, leadership, and supervisory responsibility.

Technician 3 Responsibilities
  • Performs unsupervised routine and corrective maintenance and troubleshooting on renewable energy assets.
  • Focus on routine testing and troubleshooting electrical systems. Proficient with advanced diagnostic tools.
  • Performs inspection and preventative maintenance on HV systems.
  • May lead teams on routine tasks and train/oversee Technicians 1 and 2.
  • Works with engineering teams and subject matter experts on upgrades and retrofits.
Technician 4 Responsibilities
  • Performs unsupervised advanced corrective and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and leads major repairs on various assets.
  • Focus on advanced testing and troubleshooting electrical systems and performing live electrical work. Possesses in‑depth knowledge of all advanced testing equipment.
