Job DescriptionAs an Engineering Technician Lead, your day-to-day activities will include:
- Drive a company vehicle to construction civil engineering job sites and document civil engineering construction activities into a daily log using engineering related software such as Builterra.
- Communicate with construction contractors and the project manager regarding the construction activities.
- Observe and document daily project construction progress and conformance with project plans and specifications.
- Review permit applications for rule compliance.
- Operate electronic survey instruments such as GPS and Total Station.
- Assist Engineers with estimates, project design, construction plan development while working in engineering related software such as AutoCAD Civil3D and Bluebeam.
- Oversee and lead the Engineering Technicians that are working onsite.
- High school graduate with post-secondary education a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of earthwork, pipeline and utility construction.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, project specifications, and maps.
- Able to work extended periods of time in outdoor conditions.
- Above average math, documentation, and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and availability for overnight travel.
- Preferred past leadership experience
