GDIT has an exciting opportunity to support the Security Assistance Group – Ukraine (SAG-U) as a member of our Enterprise Mission Information Technology Services (EMITS) program supporting U.S. Army Europe and Africa’s (USAREUR-AF) mission in Wiesbaden, Germany.
The Configuration Manager plays a vital cross-functional role within the J6 Cyber and Operations Divisions, responsible for ensuring that IT systems, network devices, and mission enclaves remain securely and consistently configured in accordance with approved baselines. This role enforces configuration compliance in support of both cybersecurity (RMF) and operational change management (CAB) processes.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACTAs a Configuration Manager at GDIT, you will safeguard system integrity, reduce risk, and improve readiness by controlling system configurations and tracking all changes across J6 IT environments.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT- Establish and maintain approved configuration baselines for systems and devices across multiple DoDIN enclaves.
- Maintain detailed configuration documentation, including hardware/software inventories, diagrams, and change logs.
- Collaborate with Cyber, Network, and System teams to ensure systems remain compliant with DISA STIGs and RMF security controls.
- Serve as a core member of the Change Advisory Board (CAB), reviewing technical impact and compliance alignment for proposed changes.
- Support audit readiness by providing evidence of configuration controls and documentation.
- Maintain the configuration management database (CMDB) or alternate systems tracking configuration and lifecycle data.
- Recommend improvements to configuration and version control procedures.
- Education: High School Diploma/GED with 6 years of experience, Associate’s with 4 years, or Bachelor’s with 2 years in systems administration, cybersecurity, or configuration management.
- Experience: 3+ years managing configuration control in DoD or enterprise IT environments.

Skills:
Familiarity with configuration management tools and CMDB platforms (e.g. Service Now, Snipe-IT, Excel-based tracking);
Knowledge of Windows and network device configurations (e.g. Cisco IOS);
Experience interpreting DISA STIGs, RMF controls, and change documentation. - Clearance: Active DoD SECRET clearance required.
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required.
- ROLE REQUIREMENTS: Attention to detail and strong documentation practices;
Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams (Cyber, Ops, Engineering);
Understanding of version control, baseline management, and DoD configuration policies;
Familiarity with theater-level IT systems and forward-deployed IT governance. - CERTIFICATIONS: Required: IAT Level II (e.g. Security+ CE);
Preferred: ITIL v4 Foundation, Configuration Management Professional (CMP), or equivalent. - PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience supporting Army systems and theater mission enclaves;
Prior involvement in CAB processes, POA&M tracking, and RMF audits;
Ability to develop configuration documentation and support SOPs.
