Salary: $6,199 per month (fixed).

Location: Selfridge, ND (Bismarck District).

Work Status: Full‑time, Regular, Nonexempt (FLSA).

Responsibilities
  • Supervise highway, facility, and equipment maintenance activities to ensure safe, efficient transportation operations.
  • Maintain highways, facilities, and equipment; respond to roadway emergencies; and assign staff and equipment to maintenance and construction projects.
Roadway and Highway Maintenance
  • Operate and oversee the operation of equipment required to perform highway and facility maintenance.
  • Assist with the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of signs, guardrail, and attenuation devices.
Supervision and Administrative Duties
  • Assist with interviewing, hiring, training, and assigning work to staff.
  • Conduct employee safety meetings and address personnel issues in accordance with policy.
Construction Support
  • Provide construction assistance and input on highway construction project priorities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED and five (5) years of experience in highway maintenance, construction, or transportation services work.
  • Experience providing lead work or supervision of staff.
  • College‑level coursework in engineering, heavy equipment operation, highway maintenance, or a closely related field may substitute for required work experience on a year‑for‑year basis, up to a maximum of three (3) years.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air brakes and cargo‑tanker endorsement required on the first day of employment.
  • Ability to work after hours, on weekends, and holidays during emergency events; must be able to report to work within 30 minutes during emergency or storm situations.
  • Previous experience safely operating equipment such as tractors with attachments, farm trucks, or similar equipment is preferred.
  • Employment of the selected candidate will be contingent on satisfactorily completing the interview process and the required drug test, medical screening, reference check, and driving records check with current and previous employers within the past three years.
