Automotive Technician

Overview

Company is seeking a full-time automotive technician to work at our very busy state-of-the-art dealership. Previous experience with hi-line cars is a plus. Attention to detail and providing outstanding customer service is a must. The Service Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards. A technician is expected to perform quality work without direct or continual supervision and be able and willing to work on all assigned work given to them.

• Receive repair orders from dispatcher and take vehicle to stall area.
• Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Communication with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by supervisor.
• Examine the vehicle to determine if additional work is needed.

• Read manufacturer s drawings and manuals
• Basic computer and internet literacy
• Operate a variety of hand, power, and shop tools
• Drive manual transmission vehicles
• Use computer diagnostic equipment

• High School diploma or the equivalent ASE certification preferred
• Proficient mechanical skills
• Ability to collaborate with the public and other dealership personnel
• Must have valid CT driver s license and maintain an acceptable safe driving record in order to drive our customers vehicles

• Automotive Diagnostics: 5 years (Preferred)
• Automotive Repair: 5 years (Preferred)
• BMW Technician: 3 years (Preferred)
