Position: Project Superintendent (Heavy Civil)
The Civi Group has partnered with a highly successful Heavy Civil General Contractor in the Greater Hartford area on their search for a Project Superintendent with experience in the civil sector to work on large-scale Civil Construction Projects.

This Project Superintendent will be responsible for directing all earthwork, installations, and construction activities on projects. They will supervise and manage the field personnel as required to successfully complete construction on schedule and within budget. This includes maintaining the highest levels of safety, quality, documentation, and communication with all trade and field personnel.

Job Title: Project Superintendent

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the estimating department with pre-bid planning, production schedules, and field experience related to upcoming projects as requested.
• Develop a work sequence with a detailed plan of attack, utilizing work crews as efficiently as possible before mobilization.
• Read, understand, and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Monitor production, resource utilization, and overall job cost vs. estimated cost to maintain profit margin on projects.
• Perform project close-out activities, such as coordinating the punch list, furnishing as-built drawings, providing O&M manuals, and compiling the final estimate/retainer billing.
• Ensure adherence to general and specific safety practices, follow company safety manual procedures, and cooperate with our safety representative in a positive, proactive manner.

Skills & Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management (preferred).
• At least 5+ years of Construction / Project Management experience in a civil construction environment.
• Knowledge of Heavy Civil Construction processes and industry standards.
• Experienced in scheduling, ordering materials, field supervision, safety management, quality control, and budgeting of all phases of civil construction.
• Ability to supervise site work construction projects from general plans and instructions, determining the proper amounts of various materials, tools, and personal equipment needed.
