Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee – Safelite
Safelite is hiring an Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee to join our team where you will receive training, earn certification, and grow your career in automotive glass replacement and repair. The trainee will embody the Safelite Spirit— a can‑do attitude, caring heart, and service mindset—while completing jobs timely and with the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities- Be paid to learn and apprentice the Safelite way through hands‑on and classroom training.
- Observe and assist in installing and repairing auto glass.
- Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and completing diagnostic testing.
- Provide additional services and products to customers.
- Study for and pass testing to become a Safelite‑certified Technician in installations, embracing a positive attitude and taught techniques.
- Operate company and customer vehicles, company‑issued tools, and chemicals safely.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all company policies and standards.
- Competitive weekly pay starting at $23.50/hour, increasing to $27.75/hour after training and certification.
- Earn $5/set of wiper blades added for customer safety.

- Program to buy additional PTO or sell unused time up to 16 hours.

- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent—preferred.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license. Any other required license(s) to operate a company vehicle.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend, and twist.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle according to all federal, state, and local laws; agreement to be monitored via in‑cab vehicle safety camera / video surveillance technology.
- Maintain professionalism and passion for customer service, exceeding expectations.
- Ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions and extreme temperatures for extended periods.
- Ability to work with chemicals, including flammable chemicals as required.
- Ability to work scheduled days, with flexibility on start and end times to accommodate customers.
- Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools to complete recalibrations and troubleshoot issues.
- Problem‑solving and ability to troubleshoot independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret English language and technical directions.
- Ability to communicate orally, via phone, and in written electronic means.
- Maintain professional appearance, adhering to dress code and PPE policies.
- Willingness and ability to maintain stable performance under pressure or opposition.
