About Heritage Oaks
Heritage Oaks Hospital is a fully accredited, 125‑bed acute psychiatric hospital in northern Sacramento, part of the UHS Family of Providers. It offers individually tailored treatment services to adolescents, adults, and senior adults, including substance‑abuse and chemical‑dependency care. The facility is a Medicare provider and accepts most commercial health insurance plans, providing comprehensive psychiatric and medical services.
ResponsibilitiesPlant Operations Technician I performs a variety of maintenance tasks across the facility, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC system management, and preventive maintenance. The role requires minimal supervision and includes:
- Perform all required tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and test and inspections of the physical plant.
- Operate and maintain the emergency power plant.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and electrical tests, and assist with the removal, installation, and repair of mechanical/electrical equipment under direct supervisor guidance.
Education
High school graduate or GED required; preferred maintenance experience of at least 4 years.
Experience
Proficiency in hand and power tools, understanding of Ohm's Law and refrigeration theory, and familiarity with building maintenance and basic mechanical engineering.
Additional Requirements
CPR certification required. Must acquire complete knowledge of the physical plant within 150 days of hire. Completion of the Handle with Care class within 30 days of employment, prior to participating in a Code Green, is mandatory.
