223 shift pattern 6am-6pm Are you a passionate food safety and quality professional looking to take the next step in your career? Pilgrim's Europe is seeking an experienced Food Safety & Quality Manager to lead food safety, quality, and compliance activities within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This is a key role responsible for maintaining the highest standards of product safety, legality, and quality while driving continuous improvement across the site.
What You'll Do Lead and continuously improve the site's HACCP-based Food Safety & Quality Management System. Ensure products consistently meet customer, legal, and food safety requirements. Support successful new product and process introductions from concept to launch. Lead customer, BRCGS, third-party, and regulatory audits, ensuring compliance and effective corrective actions. Manage non-conforming products, customer complaints, product holds, and investigations. Monitor hygiene, housekeeping, and factory standards through regular audits and inspections.
Analyse microbiological and chemical trends to identify risks and implement preventative actions. Lead serious incident investigations, crisis management activities, and water quality programmes. Manage, coach, and develop the Food Safety & Quality team. Provide technical guidance and training across the site to promote a strong food safety culture. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, compliance, and operational performance.
Essential Criteria Degree qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline. Proven experience within an FMCG food manufacturing environment. Strong working knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS, Food Safety, Food Hygiene, and Food Legislation. Experience leading customer, third-party, and regulatory audits. Previous people management and team leadership experience. Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills. Strong experience of root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
Ability to build effective relationships with customers, auditors, and stakeholders. Desirable Criteria Advanced Diploma in Applied HACCP Principles. Advanced Food Hygiene qualification. Internal Auditor qualification. Project management, coaching, and training experience. Experience managing customer technical relationships and responding to quality issues.
