About the Team

Future4

Me is a County-wide programme that brings together the Council's core offer to adolescents by building on the Youth Offending Team, Youth Hub and Family Help. It works within a trauma recovery approach, addressing the causes of behaviour and vulnerabilities through multi-disciplinary co-operation, and supports young people at risk of entering care, involved in criminal activity or at risk of exploitation.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a key worker for families with a range of needs, undertaking assessments and delivering interventions directly to children and their families.
  • Work on a one-to-one basis, delivering evidence-based interventions in a trauma sensitive way.
  • Contribute to holistic family work for children subject to Child Protection and Child in Need plans, and those looked after by the local authority.
  • Travel and work in a timely and flexible manner, with a requirement for some evening and weekend work where cases require it.
Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
  • Ability to undertake family assessments, develop plans and deliver needs-led packages of support.
  • Ability to act as a Lead Professional for a family where appropriate, responsible for day-to-day implementation and coordination of the family plan.
  • Strong engagement skills, building relationships with families to enable accurate assessments and plans.
  • Knowledge and understanding of child development, adolescent risk-taking behaviour and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Key team player, working closely with staff members and specialist workers from other agencies, local authorities and organisations.
  • Fluency in English, as required by Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.

The role offers a hybrid working arrangement with a nominated contractual work base. You will be required to commute to the base when necessary and will receive appropriate technology support.
