Job SummaryAs the critical link between Engineering and Production, you will ensure that shipbuilding activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with industry standards. This long‑term opportunity offers the chance to leverage your extensive shipyard experience to contribute to innovative vessel projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities- Update as-built drawings, incorporate field modifications, and support the development of build strategies.
- Coordinate daily with engineering teams, production supervisors, and craft leads to ensure alignment and smooth operations.
- Support routing and installation of piping, electrical, mechanical, and structural systems aboard vessels.
- Review drawings, identify and resolve technical discrepancies, and verify compliance with ABS, USCG, and internal standards.
- Assist in optimizing construction schedules and enhance overall production workflows.
- Provide on-site technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
- Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing rework and streamlining build processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine, Mechanical, Structural Engineering, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
- At least 7 years of experience working in newbuild shipyard environments.
- Minimum of 5 years in craft-level supervision or subcontractor coordination.
- Proven ability to interpret design intent and translate it into effective field execution.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with Ship Constructor software is a plus.
- Solid understanding of vessel systems, including piping, electrical, and structural disciplines.
- Knowledge of ABS and Coast Guard regulations and standards.
- Strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and independence.
- Physical capability to work in shipyard conditions, including climbing, kneeling, working in confined spaces, and at heights, with proper PPE.
- Willingness to support construction teams in active production environments.
