Vehicle Acquisition Specialist

Nucar Toyota of North Kingstown is looking for a Vehicle Acquisition Specialist to join our growing team!

The Vehicle Acquisition Specialist is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing pre‑owned vehicles directly from private sellers. This role drives used‑car inventory growth by targeting high‑quality vehicles outside traditional trade‑in and auction channels. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, skilled in negotiations, and thrives in a fast‑paced environment.

• Lead Generation & Outreach – Identify and engage potential sellers through online marketplaces, outbound campaigns, referrals, and community events. Respond promptly to inbound inquiries from individuals looking to sell vehicles.
• Vehicle Appraisal & Valuation – Use market data (KBB, vAuto, auction trends) to present competitive yet profitable purchase offers.
• Negotiation & Purchase Execution – Negotiate pricing and terms with private sellers to secure inventory that meets dealership standards; complete all required paperwork, ensuring proper title transfer and compliance with state regulations; coordinate transportation and inbound logistics for reconditioning or wholesale.
• Collaboration & Reporting – Work closely with the Used Car Manager to review condition, reconditioning needs, and frontline timelines; maintain accurate records of leads, conversations, offers, acquisitions, and closing ratios; provide weekly reporting on performance metrics and market trends.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work evenings/weekends as needed.
