Key Responsibilities Provide senior-level SHEQ support and guidance across multiple projects and operational teams. Promote best practice in the management of SHEQ risks and support the delivery of industry-leading performance. Assist in the development, implementation and continual improvement of SHEQ policies, procedures, management systems and risk controls. Plan, coordinate and support internal SHEQ assurance audits. Conduct accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Work closely with project teams to understand operational challenges and deliver practical SHEQ solutions. Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to promote a positive and proactive SHEQ culture. Support all stages of the project lifecycle, ensuring SHEQ considerations are embedded throughout delivery. Identify opportunities for sustainable and innovative solutions. Analyse SHEQ performance data, identify trends and produce meaningful reports. Support the maintenance and continual improvement of externally certified management systems.
Essential Skills and Experience Proven experience working within a SHEQ function, ideally within engineering, construction, utilities or infrastructure environments. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, evaluate and interpret large volumes of data while maintaining data integrity. Ability to identify trends and present findings clearly to stakeholders. Sound knowledge of SHEQ legislation, regulations and Approved Codes of Practice. Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to influence at all levels of an organisation. Ability to make informed decisions and recognise when escalation is required. Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
