ASAP About the Role We are currently recruiting for an experienced School Caretaker to work at a school in Slough. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable, practical and proactive individual who has previous caretaker experience within a school environment and takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean and secure site for pupils, staff and visitors. The successful candidate will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the school, ensuring the premises are well maintained, secure and ready for use.
Key Responsibilities Opening and locking the school premises, ensuring the site is secure. Carrying out routine health and safety checks and reporting any concerns. Undertaking general maintenance, minor repairs and basic DIY tasks. Ensuring the school grounds, buildings and surrounding areas are clean, tidy and well maintained. Setting up and moving furniture and equipment as required. Monitoring the condition of the premises and reporting maintenance issues.
Supporting contractors and overseeing site access when required. Following school procedures for site security, safeguarding and health and safety. Responding to day-to-day site issues and supporting the smooth running of the school. Essential Requirements Previous experience working as a School Caretaker or in a similar role within a school environment. A full, valid UK driving licence . An Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service .
A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to carry out basic maintenance and repairs. Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently. A reliable, punctual and proactive attitude. An understanding of safeguarding, site security and health and safety within a school setting. Why Apply?
