About the role

We're looking for a Non Mechanical Plant Supervisor to join our team at the Shotts ATS Depot
, part of Balfour Beatty Asset & Technology Solutions
. In this hands on operational role, you'll oversee the day to day running of our Non Mechanical business, working closely with customers and project teams to ensure we consistently deliver a Right First Time service.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring our non mechanical assets are maintained to the highest standards, remain fully compliant, and achieve maximum availability. Alongside managing workflow and documentation, you’ll also support workshop activity where required. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in an operational environment, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in high quality delivery.

What you'll be doing
  • Overseeing daily operational activity across the Non Mechanical plant function.
  • Liaising with internal and external customers to understand requirements and ensure service levels are met.
  • Ensuring all assets are serviced, maintained and compliant with legislative, manufacturer and company standards.
  • Supporting workshop operations with a hands on approach when needed.
  • Managing proactive maintenance plans to maximise asset uptime.
  • Maintaining clean, safe and efficient working areas in line with 5S standards.
  • Completing all required documentation and electronic records clearly and on time.
  • Ordering parts and managing stock levels to optimise cost and availability.
  • Supporting commercial compliance including rate cards, supply chain engagement and damage charge controls.
  • Working flexibly, including paid weekday and weekend overtime where required.
  • Undertaking additional duties aligned with your skillset.
Who we’re looking for Essential skills & experience
  • Strong knowledge and hands on experience with non mechanical equipment.
  • Experience in maintenance and servicing of non mechanical assets.
  • Ability to read temporary works drawings.
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of workplace Health & Safety requirements.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Experience supervising or managing staff.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • A team focused, customer facing approach with flexibility around working hours.
Desirable
  • A safety qualification (e.g., IOSH) or willingness to work towards one.
  • Relevant CSCS card.
  • Professional or technical qualification (e.g., Lift Supervisor, AP certifications, CPCS, SMSTS).
