Senior Scientist R&D

Location: Calderbank

Talentmark are recruiting for a Senior R&D Scientist to join a company in the medical devices industry on a contract basis for 12 months. This role is fully site-based in Motherwell.

Salary:
24.52 - 26.56 per hour PAYE

Senior R&D Scientist Role:

• Execute complex, high-quality experimental work streams from concept through to final recommendation and design transfer.
• Analyse and interpret complex data from multi-factorial experiments.
• Present project updates and technical findings effectively to stakeholders
• Apply Design for Manufacture (DFM) philosophy to optimise product formulations and characterisation processes
• Champion laboratory excellence by creating a working environment that proactively supports compliance, including GLP, GMP, and GDP standards

Your Background:

• Hold a Master's degree in a life science subject. A BSc will be considered if coupled with industry experience.
• Proven knowledge of diagnostic immunoassay technology and the ability to follow or improve complex experimental protocols.
• Strong computer literacy and data analysis skills, with a track record of delivering accurate results on time.
• Excellent communication skills, specifically in writing technical documentation and laboratory records.
• Experience with particle-based immunoassays, fluorescent detection, whole-blood assays, and working within GMP/GLP/GDP or biohazard environments is preferred.
