About This RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to prepare and oversee accurate, comprehensive cost estimates for complex electrical infrastructure projects. The Senior Estimator will mentor junior staff and ensure all estimates meet company standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Scope Analysis – Review and analyze project plans, specifications, RFPs, and pricing schedules to understand the scope of work.
- Cost Estimation – Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors; conduct take‑offs and maintain cost databases.
- Collaboration and Communication – Work with project managers, engineers and clients; lead pre‑bid meetings and define scope letters and proposals.
- Data Analysis and Improvement – Analyze historical data to improve future estimates and develop weighting criteria for proposal evaluations.
- Compliance and Standards – Ensure estimates comply with regulations, manage change orders and maintain cost‑to‑complete estimates.
- Proposal and Bid Preparation – Participate in bid reviews, prepare and submit proposal documents, and provide expert judgment of costs.
- Mentorship and Leadership – Mentor junior estimators and provide training and development opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of construction cost estimating experience focused on electrical infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Extensive knowledge of industry standards, regulations and cost databases.
- Professional estimating certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator) are a plus.
