Package & Benefits
- Salary package reflecting your technical expertise.
- Relocation considered for suitable candidates.
- Opportunities to develop towards technical specialist and regional engineering roles.
Why This Business
Our client is an established industrial minerals producer serving manufacturing, construction and environmental markets. You’ll join a wider automation team supporting operating production plants, working with both legacy equipment and modern control technologies.
What you’ll be doing
- Write, modify and troubleshoot PLC programmes, including ladder logic, function blocks and structured text, to improve equipment performance.
- Develop and maintain HMI/SCADA systems, diagnose instrumentation faults and resolve process control issues alongside production and maintenance teams.
- Support industrial networks, drive systems, equipment commissioning and controls upgrades, primarily at Apex with occasional support for other sites.
- Improve industrial data acquisition, historian systems and reporting to give plant teams clearer insight into production performance.
The expertise you’ll need
- A bachelor’s degree in automation or a related engineering discipline, with a strong industrial automation background.
- Around five years’ relevant controls or process automation experience; slightly fewer years considered where experience closely matches the role.
- Hands-on PLC programming and HMI/SCADA experience. Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, PlantPAx, Factory Talk View SE and Wonderware InTouch or Historian experience is particularly relevant.
- Practical fault-finding skills across plant controls, instrumentation and industrial networks, with the ability to work independently and communicate clearly with operators and maintenance teams.
The role is fully on-site in an industrial plant environment, with occasional after-hours and weekend support.
