Behavioral Health Prior Authorizations

If you have never written or submitted a mental health prior authorization, please do not apply.

• Verifying Insurance Coverage: Determining if a patient's insurance plan requires prior authorization for specific services or medications.
• Obtaining Authorizations: Submitting requests to insurance companies for approval of medical services, procedures, or medications, and following up on the status of these requests.
• Documenting and Tracking: Maintaining accurate records of all authorization requests, communication attempts, and outcomes.
• Communicating with Stakeholders: Keeping patients, providers, and insurance companies informed about the status of authorization requests and any required follow-up.
• Reviewing Medical Records: Examining patient records to assess the medical necessity of requested services and ensure compliance with insurance guidelines.
• Identifying and Resolving Issues: Troubleshooting any issues related to prior authorization, such as denials or delays, and working to resolve them.
• Staying Updated: Keeping abreast of changes in insurance policies and procedures related to prior authorization.

Full-time, Contract

$22.73 - $27.38 per hour
