Overview
Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator Lead to support a Modeling, Simulation, and Training team at the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center – Nellis (JITTC-N), Nellis, AFB, NV. The individual’s primary responsibility would be leading a team of System Administrators that provide Linux System support to a team of engineers, Subject Matter Experts, and Pilots.
Responsibilities- Maintain continuous operation of multi‑user Linux computer systems to support the mission.
- Daily manage a team of System Administrators, providing mentorship and knowledge to junior staff.
- Set up administrator and service accounts and install system‑wide software, allocating mass storage space.
- Configure and troubleshoot systems (desktop and/or server based), optimizing operation and resource utilization.
- Perform system capacity analysis and planning, and develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation of computing resources.
- Maintain security updates of operating system and software, and maintain system documentation.
- E‑valuate vendor products to inform mission partner decisions.
- 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors; 7 years with Masters; 4 years with PhD or JD; or High School Diploma with 13 years experience.
- Management and/or mentoring experience.
- Experience with Linux system administration.
- Capable of working morning and evening shifts to accommodate training operations.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI and relevant SAP/SAR Clearance; active Top Secret clearance within last 24 months.
- Certifications:
Linux+ and Security+ - Experience in Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) as System Administrator.
- Preferred experience maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems.
Job performance requires adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity. Office work environment.
