Job SummaryThe Inventory Clerk is responsible for electronically identifying, verifying, and transacting all products produced by various departments. This includes investigating, identifying, and correcting the causes of any discrepancies between inventory system records and physical cycle counts. The role requires updating computer system transactions to account for all physical movement, consumption, and inventory production, ensuring correct identification and quantification of moved products, and handling the biological activity of all transacted products to designated locations.
Essential quality control will also be required.
- Reconcile daily production and materials movements to contribute to 98% or greater inventory accuracy
- Serve as the shop floor key user of ERP and other inventory and production systems
- Perform inventory cycle counts daily and report data to the material control department before the end of the shift
- Perform quality checks on stored inventory and discard inventory that does not meet the company’s standards
- Maintain and update records
- Prepare reports on price lists, inventory balance, and shortages
- Research the accuracy of product details and test new products
- Other tasks as assigned
- Good understanding of inventory control and transactions
- Must understand and follow all departmental safety rules
- Understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Have or obtain a forklift license
- ISO sections about the position
- RF Scanner
- Forklift
- Barcode equipment
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Have at least one year of experience working in a warehouse, manufacturing, or production facility
- Have at least one year of forklift experience and forklift certification
- Logistics or supply chain background preferred
- Must be able to speak, read, comprehend, and write in English
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Capacity to work overtime as needed
- Excellent computer skills with the aptitude to learn complex ERP and other systems (Oracle)
- Prior SAP or Oracle experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledgeable in manufacturing bills of materials and packaging specifications
- Must be a team player and take direction well
- Good vision (corrective lenses permitted); central and peripheral vision in both eyes to detect objects or movement in the field of view
Standing, sitting, walking, use of central and peripheral vision, and hearing continuously; speaking/verbal communication; bending, stooping, twisting neck and torso frequently; reaching, holding, grasping, pushing, pulling, lifting/carrying raw material, finished product, tools and machinery up to 50 pounds frequently.
Working ConditionsWork indoors and outdoors; exposure to temperatures commensurate with outdoor seasonal temperatures.
