Job Summary

The primary responsibilities for the Maintenance Technician are to analyze, troubleshoot and maintain manufacturing and facility equipment. Utilize test equipment such as VOM meters, oscilloscopes, current clamps, and other diagnostic equipment to accomplish the job. Utilize welders, soldering and brazing equipment, mills, lathes, and other mechanical equipment to affect repairs. May help facility technician run conduit, data, and phone lines as necessary to support production.

Assist in improving production processes and procedures as necessary to improve final product.

Essential Job Functions

The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification.   • Maintain and repair production and facility equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic prints.
  • Run air and water and drain lines as necessary.
  • Perform preventive maintenance procedures on production and facility equipment.
  • Operate mills, lathes, welders, and other equipment to perform repairs.
  • Utilize PMXpert software to work order parts and equipment for repairs and equipment PMs.
  • Perform these and other duties as assigned by supervisor or other appropriate management personnel.

Schedule:

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday – 4:00 am to 4:30 pm 36-hour work shift,
receive 40 hours of pay

* Training will be conducted on the regular schedule of 6:00am to 4:00pm for about 1 month, subject to change.

Qualifications
  • Two or four-year technical degree in electronics, mechanical or HVAC preferred
  • Three years minimum work experience in an industrial setting
  • Ability to understand and utilize test equipment such as VOM’s, current clamps, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic devices
  • Ability to operate mills, lathes, welders, and other equipment preferred
  • Good computer, math, and reading skills; must be able to read and interpret blueprints
  • Must be flexible and able to work any shift sometimes at short notice
  • Detail-oriented, good organizational skills and able to multitask
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Ability to operate a forklift, pallet jacks, scissor, and boom lifts

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak, hear, and comprehend. The employee is required to stand for extended periods, walk and use hands for grasping and fine manipulation. The employee will be required to reach with hands and arms and must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Employee must be able to regularly push and pull loads using a pallet jack. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus and distinguish colors from one another.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in an indoor setting with variable temperature conditions. The employee will be working around moving equipment and machinery and will occasionally be required to use hazardous chemicals with appropriate, required personal protective equipment. The employee may be exposed to minimal chemical smells and paper dust. The employee must be prepared to respond to emergencies should they occur.

The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
