Apprentice Field Service Engineer – Remote
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc. (MHIA) is seeking an Apprentice Field Service Engineer to support our experienced technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of corrugating and box‑making machines. This remote position reports to the Las Vegas, NV office.

ScopeThe Apprentice Field Service Engineer assists Field Service Engineers with installation, maintenance, repair, and customer support of corrugating and box‑making machines.
Job Responsibilities- Assist with customer support requests and troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
- Observe and practice diagnosing problems and participate in disassembly, inspection, and repair under supervision.
- Train alongside experienced technicians on interpreting prints, specifications, manuals, and work orders.
- Participate in the setup and installation of new equipment, coordinating with riggers and millwrights.
- Install electrical and hydraulic connections, perform leveling, alignment checks, and verify machine operation.
- Shadow technicians during operator training sessions and assist with training activities.
- Document service activities, including photos and detailed descriptions.
- Report equipment issues, material needs, or safety concerns to supervising technicians or management.
- Engage in structured learning activities and performance evaluations.
- Support operations to maintain workflow and meet quality and schedule standards.
- Arrange and document travel for customer site visits in accordance with company policy.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Mechanical aptitude or vocational training.
- No prior field experience required.
- Preferred: willingness to learn, strong attention to detail, safety commitment, positive attitude, basic mechanical and electrical understanding, excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- High volume nationwide travel with little advance notice.
- Work performed at the customer's request, including day, night, and weekends.
- Physical requirements:
sit, stand, bend, kneel, walk, talk, hear. Frequent lifting of 30–50 pounds.
Estimated hourly wage: $19.48 to $24.36 per hour.
