R Distribution Manager (Open)

Location:

North Las Vegas, NV - Filling industrial

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? The role of the Distribution Manager is to handle all trucking and distribution functions for the specific location. Supervises and coordinates activities of all dispatchers, drivers, field service personnel and truck maintenance.

Compensation: $75,000 annually to $95,000 annually DOE.

Responsibilities
  • Handle all trucking and distribution functions for the division.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of dispatchers, drivers, field service personnel and truck maintenance.
  • Lead within the Airgas culture – putting safety first.
  • Responsible for overall Safety, Quality, Service and Cost control of Distribution team.
  • Manage Class A and B licensed personnel – hiring, training, motivating, planning and directing work, managing performance and resolving associate issues.
  • Work with regional safety officer to coordinate procedures required for compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA, state and local regulations and Union agreements.
  • Create, implement and revise standard operational practices.
  • Responsible for all truck and forklift maintenance; maintain driver files and maintenance records.
  • Represent company in traffic violations; handle accident reporting for fleet.
  • Work closely with internal customers to ensure customer needs are met in a timely manner.
  • Ensure safety rules strictly observed, run safety training, correct unsafe practices, promote safety awareness.
  • Ensure all accidents and/or injuries reported within 24 hours and investigated.
  • Lead daily safety meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Customer service oriented; able to interact with public professionally.
  • Work flexible hours to meet customer needs and management expectations.
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational skills; good math skills (discounts, percentages, cash).
  • Efficient at multitasking.
  • Pre‑employment and random drug testing applies.
  • Conceptual understanding of industrial gas products, production, distribution applications and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma and lean manufacturing practices desired.
  • Significant training in Safety and Compliance (OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA).
  • Compliance experience in multi‑team environments.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); proficiency with SAP desired.
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years in industrial gas/packaged gas industry plant environment, petrochemical or related industries in operations.
  • Minimum 2 years in supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
  • Strong comprehension of MSDS and OSHA regulations.
Work Environment and Safety Equipment
  • Regularly required to sit for long periods and stand; reach with hands and arms; lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, ability to adjust focus required.
  • Noise level moderate to noisy; may be exposed to extreme weather.
  • Reasonable accommodations for disabilities possible.
  • Hearing protection, safety shoes, safety glasses required in designated areas.
  • Other PPE as required.
