Teaching Assistant; Temporary

Position: Teaching Assistant (Temporary)
Forever Teaching is recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Cheetham Hill on a long-term basis. This role focuses on supporting pupils in the classroom who face barriers to learning, while also assisting the class teacher with the smooth running of lessons and day-to-day classroom routines.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide in-class support to pupils (1:1 and small group) to help them access learning

* Support learners with a range of needs that may include SEND, SEMH, EAL, low confidence, or gaps in prior learning

* Help the teacher deliver engaging lessons by reinforcing instructions and checking understanding

* Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a calm, focused learning environment

* Assist with differentiated tasks, resources, and classroom organisation

* Encourage independence, motivation, and participation in learning

* Monitor progress and share feedback with teaching staff and pastoral teams where appropriate

The Ideal Candidate

* Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience is desirable)

* Confident supporting pupils with additional needs or barriers to learning

* Calm, reliable, and able to build positive relationships quickly

* Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-focused attitude

* Committed to safeguarding and promoting wellbeing in school
