Supply Chain and Logistics Trainee – Warehouse

Penske’s Logistics Trainee Program is a management trainee experience built specifically for individuals interested in supply chain careers, logistics operations, and leadership development. This structured program provides hands‑on training across multiple logistics functions and prepares you for future leadership roles within Penske Logistics.

Eligibility
  • You have an undergraduate degree.
  • Your leadership track record is evident whether in class, on campus, in your community, or in the military.
  • You are legally authorized to work in the United States.

Program Overview

Each program begins on the first of the month and runs for approximately 9–12 months. You must be able to commute to “city, state” daily; relocation is an option after program completion.

During the program you will gain experience in selection, loading/unloading of trailers, cross‑docking, customer service operations, and efficient use of warehouse equipment. You will also learn to plan work assignments, maintain a safe work environment, meet customer goals, resolve operational issues, and implement lean processes.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that associates are motivated, engaged, trained, and competent, and understand how their work relates to customer business objectives.
  • Foster a safe work environment by complying with and administering established safety and operational procedures.
  • Understand location‑specific customer goals and work to exceed these expectations daily.
  • Effectively resolve issues and monitor day‑to‑day operations for compliance, using organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Develop working knowledge of the site’s operating systems to ensure compliance and exception resolution.
  • Learn Kaizen methodology and implement Lean processes.
  • Apply basic principles of inventory management, receiving goods, storage, and shipping from a warehouse environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Data Science/Analytics or related field is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership through school, community, clubs/organizations, or the military.
  • Authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Internship or related work experience in a customer‑facing role preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and navigate various technology platforms.
  • Commitment to learning and growth; receptive to feedback.
  • High level of commitment to operational responsibilities.
  • Results‑oriented with attention to detail and strong time‑management skills.
  • Builds positive working relationships across all levels within the department.
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary and work at the specific location.

Benefits

Pay: $25.00 per hour with an average annual of $55,000 (including overtime)
