Job Summary
Responsible for performing CT procedures to assist in disease diagnosis. This position is a safety‑sensitive role that requires maintaining alertness and safety throughout the shift.
Responsibilities- Review images in the PACS system.
- Identify abnormalities.
- Assist the radiologist in interpreting patient exams.
- Perform CT procedures as prescribed by a physician, including positioning patients and selecting appropriate scan images for PACS transfer.
- Obtain essential information from patients, medical records, and prior scans; instruct patients on procedure steps; transfer patients to the CT table and ensure immobilization; adjust scanning parameters; capture diagnostic images; submit exams for interpretation.
- Perform life‑saving techniques (CPR, first aid) when necessary.
- Practice sterile techniques to prevent cross‑contamination; handle blood and body fluids; manage infectious patients.
- Perform patient care tasks as needed.
- Request charts and film folders from the online computer program.
- High school diploma; graduation from an accredited radiography school.
- ARRT (CT) registration or registry eligibility.
- Current Radiologic Technology License (RTL) in good standing.
- BLS certification.
Skills and Abilities
- Minimum one year of experience and/or training with graduate CT.
- Skilled in injecting contrast intravenously for imaging procedures.
- Skilled in using computer network systems to process patient and department information.
- Knowledgeable and skilled in assuming responsibility for safety factors.
- Ability to explain procedures clearly and simply to patients.
- Required to talk or hear regularly.
- Required to stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers, handle or feel objects, use tools/controls, and reach with hands and arms.
- Requires close vision and ability to adjust focus.
This position involves potential exposure to infectious diseases. Colleagues are offered appropriate vaccinations and safety training.
