Job Summary

Responsible for performing CT procedures to assist in disease diagnosis. This position is a safety‑sensitive role that requires maintaining alertness and safety throughout the shift.

Responsibilities
  • Review images in the PACS system.
  • Identify abnormalities.
  • Assist the radiologist in interpreting patient exams.
  • Perform CT procedures as prescribed by a physician, including positioning patients and selecting appropriate scan images for PACS transfer.
  • Obtain essential information from patients, medical records, and prior scans; instruct patients on procedure steps; transfer patients to the CT table and ensure immobilization; adjust scanning parameters; capture diagnostic images; submit exams for interpretation.
  • Perform life‑saving techniques (CPR, first aid) when necessary.
  • Practice sterile techniques to prevent cross‑contamination; handle blood and body fluids; manage infectious patients.
  • Perform patient care tasks as needed.
  • Request charts and film folders from the online computer program.
Education, Certification, Licensure and Registration
  • High school diploma; graduation from an accredited radiography school.
  • ARRT (CT) registration or registry eligibility.
  • Current Radiologic Technology License (RTL) in good standing.
  • BLS certification.
Experience, Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Minimum one year of experience and/or training with graduate CT.
  • Skilled in injecting contrast intravenously for imaging procedures.
  • Skilled in using computer network systems to process patient and department information.
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in assuming responsibility for safety factors.
  • Ability to explain procedures clearly and simply to patients.
Physical Demands
  • Required to talk or hear regularly.
  • Required to stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers, handle or feel objects, use tools/controls, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Requires close vision and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment

This position involves potential exposure to infectious diseases. Colleagues are offered appropriate vaccinations and safety training.
