Position SummaryThe Sanitation Technician is responsible for the cleaning of the facility and equipment utilized in the production process and related activities. This position is also responsible for cleaning offices both at the facility and forms all work in a safe, efficient and sanitary manner in accordance with regulatory standards and Good Manufacturing Practices. Responsible for food safety.
Essential Job Functions- Cleans equipment per the Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) as directed by the Sanitation Supervisor and/or Sanitation Manager to maintain a clean processing environment for all products.
- Dismantles equipment prior to cleaning as needed and reassembles when completed as directed.
- Works with the Sanitation Supervisor to sample the flour tailings and maintain the cleanliness of the flour sifter as required.
- Cleans the facility to maintain a clean processing environment for all products.
- Cleans employee services areas to maintain clean facilities for all employees.
- Utilizes cleaning chemicals in the appropriate quantities and for the intended purposes to assure plant surfaces are clean and meet regulatory standards.
- Cleans equipment after repairs and prior to the return of equipment to production at the direction of the production and/or maintenance supervisor.
- Cleans the offices, emptying trash, vacuuming and performing other cleaning functions.
- Maintains the office kitchens and bathrooms ensuring areas are clean and sanitary.
- Maintains the grounds as required.
- Replenishes soaps, paper products, hairnets etc. as needed.
- Serves on the production line as needed freue and on the safety committee if selected.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required
- Ability to read, write legibly, and perform simple mathematic functions.
Preferred
- HS Diploma or GED.
Required
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds on a regular basis.
- Understand and apply Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for various chemicals used.
- Must be able to work weekends.
Preferred
- Previous sanitation or cleaning experience.
- Slip resistant footwear.
- Apron or smock or uniform.
- Company supplied gloves.
- Hairnet/beard net.
- Ear, eye, and head protection gear.

Typical food manufacturing environment with regular exposure to heat and cold environments depending on the area assigned.
