Overview
North Logan City is seeking proposals from qualified firms to conduct a comprehensive Master Signage and Wayfinding Plan. This Master Plan will lead to the development of cohesive signage and way finding across the city, including recommendations for entrance signage, vehicular and directional signage, park and trail signage, and standards for private commercial business signage.
In addition to the creation of a Master Signage and Wayfinding Plan, the city also seeks assistance to update the city’s current signage ordinance. This task will accomplish two primary objectives. First, the signage ordinance needs to be rewritten to address constitutional free speech deficiencies (see Reed v. Town of Gilbert case law). Secondly, the signage ordinance will need to be updated in order to codify regulatory standards needed to implement the Master Signage and Wayfinding Plan’s overall vision.
The purpose of this project is to enhance community identity, support larger placemaking efforts, improve navigation, and ensure aesthetic consistency throughout North Logan City while supporting both public and private development.
