Patient Service Representative
North Myrtle Beach, SC | $15.00–$18.00 / week
Responsibilities- Collect specimens according to established procedures; e.g., drug screens, blood samples, processing pathology and cytology samples.
- Research test/client information and confirm all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems or service directories.
- Accurately complete data entry for patient registration and test orders from requisitions.
- Enter billing information and collect payments, safeguarding assets and credit card data.
- Process specimens: label, centrifuge, split, freeze as required by test order.
- Work iLabs for assigned accounts daily to ensure accurate data for billing.
- Provide CIR and PPE resolution reporting to Director on schedule.
- Perform department clerical duties: data entry, inventory, supplies, phone calls as needed.
- Read, understand, and enforce departmental policies, protocols and procedures (Procedure Manuals, Safety Manual, Compliance Manual, Automobile Policies and Procedures, Employee Handbook, Quality Assurance Manual); ensure staff followed instructions.
- Verify patient demographic info/initials and obtain patient signature after venipuncture to confirm correct labeling.
- Assist with monthly statistics and data submission.
- Maintain phlebotomy logs (maintenance, temperature) in a timely manner per required frequency.
- Complete training courses and stay current on phlebotomy techniques.
- Travel to Territory Manager meetings if held off‑site or outside normal shift.
- Participate in special projects and teams.
- Stay up‑to‑date on company communications.
- Provide error‑free work in fast‑paced environment.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
- Flexible and available based on staffing needs (weekends, holidays, on‑call, overtime).

- Reliable transportation, valid driver license, and clean driving record, if applicable.
- Superior customer focus; open and transparent communication with peers, supervisors, and patients; embrace change throughout MAKO; knowledge of business.
- Lift light to moderately heavy objects (1–15 lbs frequently; 16–25 lbs occasionally; 26–40 lbs seldom; >41 lbs requires assistance).
- Sit or stand for long periods; requires eye and hand coordination.
- Perform repetitive tasks with dominant hand frequently throughout the day.
- Position requires travel.
- Extensive use of phone and PC.
- Fine dexterity and steadiness of hands.
- Bending/kneeling, pushing/pulling, reaching/twisting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
- One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
