Job Description Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment.Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.Provide customers with fresh products in correct portions to prevent shrinkage.Recommend bakery or deli items to customers.Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients as per recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise properly.Check product quality for freshness and review "sell by" dates.Use kitchen equipment like stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, etc., properly.Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping.Understand store layout and locate products for customers.Stay updated on current, seasonal, and promotional ads.Maintain product knowledge and respond to customer inquiries.Monitor inventory and stocking conditions.Ensure proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers.Create a welcoming environment for customers.Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs needed.Report customer or employee accidents.Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment.Manage conflicts professionally.Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and seniors.Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.Qualifications
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Customer service skills
- Effective communication skills
- Basic math knowledge
- Ability to obtain a food handlers permit upon employment
