The Senior Product Development Engineer designs and implements new state-of-the-art test systems in a plumbing laboratory. This role demonstrates the ability to apply the latest applicable technologies to exceed product test requirements and support future products. This position develops and implements testing procedures that ensure timely, accurate test results, design reliability, and satisfaction of all certification requirements. The Senior Product Development Engineer designs, builds, and tests new test fixtures, equipment, and systems;

this includes incorporation of all instrumentation, data acquisition, and control. This role provides leadership and direction in development projects in the lab.

• Design and implement new state-of-the-art test systems in the Lab. Demonstrate the ability to apply the latest applicable technologies to exceed our product test requirements and support our future products.
• Develop and implement testing procedures that ensure timely, accurate test results, design reliability, and satisfaction of all certification requirements.
• Performs as a liaison to the product groups and other facets of the organization. Interfaces and contributes to coordinating efforts with other engineering departments and vendors to assure efficient, cost-effective test development.
• Trains technical personnel in the use and support of test equipment, test programs, and debug processes. Supervises and mentors Laboratory Technicians as assigned.
• Independently implements projects aimed at process, quality, or cost improvements. Improves test efficiencies by analyzing, planning and modifying test processes/systems.
• Assists in developing policies, procedures and methods in support of the quality system. Participates in the development, maintenance and refinement of internal quality control and reliability programs.
• Evaluates, incorporates and validates software in the existing system products, web-based systems, and Local Area Network/Wide Area Network networks.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Computer Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology, is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Test Engineer or equivalent is required.
• Prior experience working in a Team environment.
• Experience working with Global Test Standards.
• Fluent with standard PC tools (i.e. word processor, spreadsheets, database, etc.). Microsoft software.
• Fluent with electronic electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Fluent with standard PC tools, PLC programming and automated test systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $81,000 USD - $126,000 USD.
