Our regional approach offers many unique benefits, including connecting a credentialed workforce with meaningful employment.

As one of the largest nonprofits in the region, we strive to improve the quality of life in Appalachia and eliminate the burden of poverty through targeted programs that advocate for and serve underrepresented households and individuals. This position will deliver locally based fatherhood programming, conduct community outreach, build partnerships, and coordinate local efforts with the statewide Fatherhood Initiative campaign.

In this role, you will:
  • Complete training in an approved fatherhood curriculum and facilitate father engagement classes, groups, and other programming, with an emphasis on reaching high-need populations throughout the COAD region.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local agencies, nonprofit organizations, community leaders, and other partners to strengthen support systems available to fathers and families.
  • Coordinate locally delivered programs and services with the statewide Fatherhood Initiative media and outreach campaign.
  • Participate in monthly funder meetings and assist with recruitment planning, goal setting, program implementation, and reporting.
  • Maintain program databases and assist with data collection, intake, surveys, reporting, and analysis to support program outcomes and outreach efforts.
  • Attend applicable COAD meetings, conferences, training, and professional development opportunities and share relevant information throughout the organization.
  • Assist with special projects, contracts, and new opportunities that may arise during the fiscal year.
  • Represent COAD with community organizations, agencies, and regional, state, and national work groups related to fatherhood and family engagement.
  • Make community presentations and serve as a positive ambassador for COAD throughout the region.
  • Maintain appropriate professional confidentiality in all aspects of the position.
