- Assist the Store Team Leader with managing payroll budgets, expenses, store banking, shrink reduction, and timely completion of related reports.
- Ensure store standards, Redbook compliance, and company programs meet all operational expectations.
- Maintain the front‑end, entrance, and exterior of the building.
- Ensure that all Associates are assigned daily tasks and are productive.
- Organize and maintain office areas.
- Support the Door to Floor process and merchandising initiatives.
- Complete the monthly Operational Risk Assessment (ORA) and alarm test; follow up on corrective actions.
- Lead monthly safety meetings with store Associates and assess meeting outcomes.
- Ensure all customer service standards meet company expectations.
- Implement price changes as necessary per company requirements.
- Coach, train, evaluate, supervise, and schedule store Associates.
- Open and close the store when needed.
- Provide leadership regarding donation programs and Ollie’s Army sign‑up and membership.
- Maintain proper hiring, recruiting, interviewing, selection, and onboarding of candidates.
- Complete any additional responsibilities and/or duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1–2 years retail supervisory experience in a mid‑size to large retail or service‑oriented business.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on a regular basis.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Professional management skills and sound judgment.
- Ability to preserve confidentiality of information.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Organizational and prioritization skills with strict time frames and deadlines.
- Knowledge of industry terms and processes.
- Effective communication and delegation skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal and listening skills.
- Positive attitude and ability to interact well with customers and Associates.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Push and pull up to 35 pounds.
- Stand for extended periods.
- Bend and twist frequently.
- Grip, reach, and pinch with arms and hands frequently.
- Squat, kneel, balance, and climb occasionally.
- See, hear, and speak regularly.
- Maintain a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Operate a motor vehicle with a valid state‑issued license.
