The Custom Order Engineer / Switchboard Design Specialist is responsible for translating customer specifications, project drawings, and quotations into complete, optimized, manufacturable designs for custom low-voltage switchboards, panel boards, and related electrical distribution equipment. This position reviews incoming orders for technical accuracy and code/standard compliance, produces engineering drawings (submittal, construction, as-built) and bills of material, and serves as the technical bridge between Sales, Quotation, Purchasing, and Production.
Additionally, this role will create & validate 3D-CAD designs for custom SWBD configurations at both the component and assembly level. This includes (but is not limited to) MTO steel, bus, and bracing/support elements. Ultimately, this role ensures that every assigned custom order is engineered accurately and on time, while minimizing cost and ensuring strict adherence to applicable UL, NEC, and customer requirements.
