DSS, Inc. is a leading health information software development and systems integration company, offering services and solutions utilized daily by thousands of clinicians and administrative staff across both public and private sectors nationwide. The Quality Assurance Analyst II is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of DSS software applications developed by the Research and Development (R&D) team. This role utilizes established testing methodologies to validate that all application functions execute correctly and meet performance standards.
The analyst will primarily support one or two core product lines, with the flexibility to provide backup support across additional products as needed. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with developers and cross-functional teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues, contributing to the continuous improvement of DSS products.
- Proficient at writing test scripts/cases to standard
- Executes manual and predefined automated tests on assigned products/projects
- Ensure that all related test cases are run for all changes made to the system
- Reports, defines and analyzes defects found during testing or reported by clients
- Tracks defects and drives resolution utilizing the defect tracking system
- Participates in daily stand up meetings for assigned product lines
- Participates in live software demonstrations to assigned product line team
- Provide mentoring to junior members for assigned team
- Travels to Client sites to test software in the clients environment (up to 25% of the year)
- Conforms to all QA processes and procedure
- Individuals working for DSS will be subject to security and privacy requirements as explained in HIPAA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53. Additionally, they are required to undergo specific FedRAMP training to ensure compliance with all associated controls and responsibilities in the day-to-day performance of their duties. Individuals working in departments that are considered to be in the high-risk category will be required to undergo advanced training based on their role and level of access.
Individuals with access to modify data and the configuration baseline will require further training.
- Has experience with any Quality Assurance software testing tools
- Has experience with Quality Assurance processes
- Has experience with Software applications
- Working knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle
- Able to define/explain:
Unit, Functional, Integration, Regression and Acceptance Testing - Prioritizes, manages time, and is detail oriented
- Possesses analytical and problem-solving skills
- Works independently and as a contributing team member
- Possesses proven aptitude for understanding technical process
- Works well with other departments and other managers
- Clearly identify and reproduce software defects
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, presentation and reporting skill
- Experience with qTest, Jira and Confluence
- Experience with Agile Development Methodology
- Knowledge of VistA and CPRS
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL
- Knowledge of Microsoft and/or Linux Servers
- QA experience with Clinical software Applications
- Ability to identify software defects that can affect patient safety
- Ability to communicate, using clinical terminology
- Understand Electronic Health Record interface standards preferably HL7 messaging
- High School or equivalent, AS, AA degree or must have an equivalent combination of work experience and education
- Bachelor s degree Computer Science, Computer Information, Health Information, or other related degree
- Military experience
- Current CSTE, CSQA or ISTQB certification, Clinical/Medical/Pharmacy License, Clinical Informatics
- 2+ years experience in a similar role for this position
The salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,000.00 to $95,000.00 (annualized USD).
