  • Supervise utility technicians and contractors, including task assignment, performance evaluations, and skills development.
  • Troubleshoot utility systems, identifying and resolving mechanical, electrical, and control system issues quickly and effectively.
  • Monitor utility system KPIs (e.g., boiler efficiency, ammonia usage, energy consumption) and identify opportunities for operational improvement and cost control.
  • Coordinate with the production and maintenance teams to schedule downtime for utility system maintenance without impacting operations.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date documentation of inspections, maintenance logs, safety checks, and compliance reports.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or licensure in boiler operation, refrigeration, or related utility systems preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in boiler, ammonia refrigeration, or utilities systems in an industrial or food processing environment.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory or lead technician experience in a utilities‑focused role.
  • Working knowledge of PSM/RMP regulations, especially related to ammonia refrigeration systems.
  • Hands‑on experience with utility systems including steam boilers, chillers, cooling towers, compressed air systems, and HVAC.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, and state/local environmental and safety regulations.
  • Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in basic computer systems and production reporting tools.
  • Proficient in financial analysis, including P&L statements, cost control, and revenue optimization.
Preferred Skills
