We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will ensure the reliable and safe operation of all equipment in the plant through preventative maintenance and timely repairs. This position involves working across various departments, including Fabrication, Harvest, Shipping, Rendering, and Boiler and Refrigeration, to address mechanical issues and ensure equipment is functioning optimally.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventative maintenance procedures on assigned equipment to minimize downtime and increase equipment longevity.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment breakdowns in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
- Collaborate with other departments when major equipment failures occur, ensuring minimal disruption to plant operations.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance tasks, and parts used, ensuring accurate reporting for compliance and tracking purposes.
- Comply with all safety protocols, ensuring work is performed safely to protect yourself, your team, and company assets.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with maintenance supervisors and lead mechanics to address issues promptly.
- Operate rendering equipment such as cookers, presses, grinders, and centrifuges in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Monitor system gauges, temperatures, and pressures to ensure safe and efficient operation.

- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications in maintenance or mechanical fields preferred.
- Previous experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing or processing plant is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and welding/fabrication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with a focus on safety and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well within a team and across multiple departments.
- Participate in training programs to improve skills.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, moisture, and noise.
- Must be able to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to perform tasks that require good hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights when necessary.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
