Summary
The preparation, dispensing, and monitoring of medications used for the prevention, diagnosis, or treatment of disease. To ensure the safe delivery of and administration of medications to the patients of the hospital.
EducationIn addition to the skills normally obtained through completion of a high school education, a minimum of 5 years of college with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in pharmacy, including 1500 hours of internship and licensure by the Rhode Island State Board of Pharmacy is required. Must annually accrue 15 continuing education credits as required for licensure.

ExperienceHospital pharmacy experience is preferred, but not required.
Working Conditions, Physical Environment and/or Safety RequirementsWorks in a well-lighted and well-ventilated area with exposure to bi hazardous waste or chemicals. Must meet annual safety training requirements and health test requirements such as TB test. Required lifting or moving objects weighing 25 pounds from time to time.
