Veterinary Assistant at Pet Vet Care Centers

Join our team at Pet Vet Care Centers in North Providence, RI to provide compassionate care for small animal patients. We are currently seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to support our clinical staff and enhance the patient experience.

As a Veterinary Assistant you will play a vital role in the day‑to‑day operations of our small animal hospital. You will assist veterinarians, prepare exam rooms, handle administrative duties, and communicate effectively with pet owners. The position is full‑time with a schedule that includes at least one evening shift (12:00‑7:00 pm) per week and every other Saturday (8:00‑2:00 pm).

• Restrain animals during examinations or vaccinations.
• Handle administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and calling patients in the examination room by priority.
• Keep accurate records and logs.
• Advise pet owners on nutrition and healthcare per the veterinarian’s instructions.

• Proven experience as a Veterinary Assistant or similar position working with animals.
• Current or former pet ownership is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Patient and caring personality.
• Ability to follow instructions properly.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (e.g., lift up to 50 lbs).
• Availability to occasionally work in emergencies.
• High school diploma; a certificate from a Veterinary Assistant program is a plus.
