Applied Scientist IV

Base pay range: $76.00/hr - $85.00/hr.

We are looking for an experienced Applied Scientist to develop and optimize robot motion control systems through advanced controller tuning, with expertise in position and torque control. The ideal candidate will establish robust testing frameworks, design automated validation routines, and implement standardized processes for controller performance evaluation. Must demonstrate strong programming skills to create automated test suites, analyze system responses, and document testing methodologies.

Experience with real-time control systems, motion planning, and system identification is required, along with the ability to troubleshoot complex control issues through data‑driven approaches.

• Master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Controls, or a related field
• Knowledge of feedback control theory
• Experience developing controllers for complex robotics systems
• Proficiency with Matlab/Python for modeling and analysis
• Strong foundation in classical controls, linear systems, and applied dynamics
• Experience developing and tuning control algorithms on physical hardware
• Hands‑on experience with sensors, actuators, embedded control systems, or robotic platforms
