Position: Dietary Aide FT/PT

Dietary Aide FT/PT (Food Services)

General Purpose

The dietary aide's assignments are determined based on the activity of the shift. He/she reports to the Cook and Dietary Supervisor.

Essential Duties

Learn food service routines quickly.

Set up meal trays.

Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.

Assist with serving different meals.

Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at the beginning of each shift.

Monitor water temperatures during dishwashing cycles.

Operate the dishwasher.

Prepare nourishments and snacks.

Sweep and mop the kitchen.

Carry out trash and garbage disposal.

Store groceries safely and in an organized manner.

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and work surfaces.

Clean refrigerators and work surfaces.

Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.

Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.

Work cooperatively with personnel across departments.

Supervisory Requirements

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.

Language Skills

Ability to read technical procedures and follow recipes. Effectively communicate with managers and staff.

Mathematical Skills

Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

Reasoning Ability

Solve practical problems and interpret instructions in various formats.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must obtain and maintain a food handler's certificate.

Physical Demands

Stand and walk frequently, sit occasionally, reach, push/pull, talk, hear, taste, smell, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Good vision and focus are required.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a low to moderate noise environment. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
