Support Worker – Special Education Provision
Location: North Tyneside area
Salary: Competitive daily rate
Contract: Full-time / Part-time options available
Start Date: September 2025 (or sooner)
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people with additional needs? We’re seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join a special education setting that supports children and young people aged 3 to 16 with a range of social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
What you’ll do:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to help pupils access learning and develop vital life skills
Work collaboratively with teaching and therapy teams to implement personalised support plans
Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every child is valued
Support pupils to build confidence, independence, and social skills
Contribute to maintaining positive behaviour and wellbeing across the provision
Who we’re looking for:
Someone patient, understanding, and calm under pressure
Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is desirable but not essential
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
A proactive team player who is flexible and reliable
Commitment to helping young people achieve their potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
