Protocol Education is recruiting a motivated Criminology Graduate to support students in a welcoming secondary school in North Shields
. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your understanding of behaviour, safeguarding and the factors that influence young people's lives while gaining valuable school‑based experience.

The Role

As a Criminology Graduate, you may work as a:

  • Behaviour Support Assistant
  • Learning Mentor
  • Pastoral Support Assistant
  • SEMH Support Assistant
  • SEND Teaching Assistant
  • Inclusion Support Assistant
  • Student Intervention Mentor

You’ll gain invaluable experience by:

  • Supporting students on a one‑to‑one and small‑group basis.
  • Helping young people regulate emotions and make positive choices.
  • Working with students with SEMH needs, Autism (ASC), ADHD and additional learning needs.
  • Supporting behaviour management using positive and restorative approaches.
  • Building trusting relationships that encourage confidence, resilience and engagement.
  • Working alongside teachers, safeguarding teams and pastoral professionals.
  • Supporting students to overcome barriers to learning.
  • Promoting positive attitudes towards education and personal development.
