Theatre Domestic Assistant - Level

We are looking to appoint a highly enthusiastic domestic assistant to join our team at North Tyneside General Hospital, working in the Operating Department.

The working hours are between 7am and 8pm, with various shift patterns. The role involves ensuring the operating theatres and surrounding areas are clean using specialised equipment (i.e. scrubber, pick up, buffer) and renewing disposables where necessary.

• Maintain cleanliness of operating theatres and surrounding areas using appropriate equipment and materials.
• Renew and manage disposable items as required.

• Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
• Previous domestic experience is essential.
• Experience with in the healthcare setting is desirable.

We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres.
