Clinical/Counselling Psychologist

Main duties of the job- Provide high quality, effective applied psychology services to the Health Psychology services.
- Deliver psychological assessment and interventions (including 1:1 and group) to patients within the service.
- Work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for clinical governance of own work according to trust policies.
- Undertake R&D activities for audit, policy and service development in conjunction with service leads.
- Supervise and support the clinical activities of assistants and trainees in CHP.
- Role model compassionate and inclusive leadership within the trust.
Including but not limited to the following:
- Provide educational groups and seminars.
- Undertake assessments relating to adaptations and additional needs to support service users.
- Provide psychological triage and assessment.
- Provide 1:1 therapeutic intervention relating to weight management.
- Provide psychological group intervention.
- Honours degree in psychology or related mental health field.
- Doctorate in clinical or counselling or health psychology that confers eligibility for registration as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the range of care settings.
- Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity.
- Experience of teaching, training and/or consultation.
- Experience of supervision of healthcare staff.
- Experience of working with patients in a physical healthcare setting.
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary setting.
- May need to travel between Trust premises as required for the performance of duties and work at any of the Trust sites. Reasonable adjustments will be considered to enable a disabled person to undertake the role.
